Doug started out the old fashioned way working as a construction laborer upon graduation from Steamboat Springs High School. His hard work ethic and passion for construction did not go unnoticed and he was soon given the opportunity to be a carpenters helper, which quickly became a full time carpenter position. He was involved in every phase of carpentry on condo’s, town homes, custom homes and log homes for the next two years prior to attending college in 1980. He continued working as a carpenter when not attending classes until he graduated in 1985 with a B.S. in Construction Management. Upon graduation from college, Doug opted to remain in the field as a subcontractor, working superintendent and project manager for several years. His talents as a well rounded framing and finish carpenter were extended to include concrete & structural steel work, drywall, painting, roofing, cabinet installation, countertop fabrication and installation, tile installation, light plumbing & electrical work…..in essence Doug devoted himself to learning as much as he could about each trade by being actively involved in it. His extensive field experience is part of the expertise he now possesses in overseeing and managing projects and every person involved. In 1994, Doug secured his Contractors License in Boulder, CO. and soon landed his first project as a General Contractor. He remains actively involved in the field as time allows but his emphasis is on project management, customer relations and running a small construction company.
